inspectors need nothing else to support them during their site
work. All necessary information, data templates and additional
technology (e.g. digital camera, GPS, map programs etc) can be
integrated into one simple to use interface as an inspector documents
observations that can then be seamlessly integrated
with a central database and reviewed on a desktop or extranet
accessible through the web.
CMOinspector can be divided into two major components:
1) Desktop Module: CMOinspector synchronises data between
a handheld device and a company database and is accessible through
a web based interface.
2) Mobile Module: CMOinspector also runs on a handheld
device such as a Pocket PC, Palm, Smart phone etc. Inspectors
in the field download appropriate data from the main database
onto the handheld device to support their envisaged fieldwork.
An inspector can then enter data, refer to user manuals, maps
and reference material, check prior history, and utilise templates
to document on-site findings.
The data entered into the hand held device is then synchronised
back into the main database once the inspector is back in the
office, or wirelessly whilst on site through Bluetooth or wireless
internet connections.
Once the data is uploaded to the company mainframe, CMOinspector
software provides means to view, manipulate and report on data
at a micro and macro level simply through logging onto a secure
web-based interface.
